FAQ

GOT QUESTIONS?

Here are some of the questions we hear most often.

We can provide general information and guidance, but identifying certain types of paint failures or the extent of damage is very difficult based only on descriptions, photos, or video. Therefore, we require an in-person inspection before providing an accurate written quote.

You can initiate your estimate using the "Start My Estimate" button on our website, and we can contact you to finalize the details. Of course, you can always stop by during business hours and we will provide you with a written estimate.

We recognize that many shops and insurance companies now use photo-based estimating tools. However, those are initial estimates that often change once the vehicle is inspected. We feel strongly that you should be able to get an accurate price before making a commitment, and that price shouldn't change simply because something couldn't be seen in the photos.

No. Estimates are always free.

No. We provide estimates at any time during business hours with no appointment necessary. Once you receive your estimate, you can choose to make an appointment to drop off the vehicle or simply leave it with us to begin work.

Our paint packages start at $597. Every vehicle is different, as are each customer's desired outcome and budget. We consider all of those factors during our estimating process.

We don't simply try to sell you the most expensive option. Instead, we focus our expertise on helping you decide which option best meets your goals. We do all of this at prices that are hard to beat. If another shop beats our price, simply bring us the estimate and we will beat it by at least 10%.

All of our paint packages include preparation for the normal wear and tear vehicles experience through everyday use, including rock chips, scratches, surface etching, fading, and stains.

Not every vehicle has damage beyond these issues, so we don't build unnecessary repairs into every package price. If your vehicle has damage beyond normal wear and tear—such as dents, dings, rust, peeling paint, or cracking—your estimate could be higher depending on how much of that damage you choose to repair.

If your vehicle has existing paint failure and you choose not to correct it, we will note that on the invoice and cannot warranty against further failure in those areas. Choosing to paint over dents or other existing body damage does not void the paint warranty.

Trucks, vans, and SUVs may also have additional charges based on vehicle size and the selected paint service. These charges start at $100 for small to midsize vehicles receiving Polyglo or Supreme services and can reach $600 for heavy-duty/super-duty trucks receiving the Extreme package. Half-ton trucks and SUVs receiving the Supreme package are $200 additional. Larger or commercial vehicles are priced individually during the estimate.

There are several reasons. First, our production process is built around one thing: painting cars affordably. By streamlining our production line instead of operating like a traditional body shop, we can produce paint jobs very efficiently. That's also why we don't offer services such as structural collision repair, full restorations, or mechanical repairs.

Second, we maintain strong relationships with suppliers such as Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes, allowing us to purchase specific products at deeply discounted prices because of our volume.

Third, modern vehicles typically use two-stage basecoat/clearcoat finishes. Collision shops often need to tint and blend these finishes to achieve a close color match when repairing only part of a vehicle. Because we are usually painting the entire vehicle, we can offer more affordable options such as single-stage paint. This reduces material costs and application time, and we pass those savings on to our customers.

If you want a basecoat/clearcoat finish similar to your vehicle's factory paint system, we offer that with our Extreme package. Our Supreme package uses a premium urethane single-stage finish and is our most popular option.

A new outfit won't make you young again, but it may help you recapture a bit of that youthful confidence! The same idea applies to a new paint job.

While we take pride in the value we offer, our process is not designed to pursue absolute show-car perfection. Minor imperfections such as dust, fine debris, or a minimal amount of paint around the edges of tight trim can be inherent to the production process and are considered acceptable.

We also don't attempt to remove every chip and scratch on every package. With Polyglo, we address the larger imperfections. With Supreme and Extreme, we address the majority of them.

High-end body and paint shops may spend significant additional time sanding and polishing after paint to remove texture, commonly called orange peel, along with dust or other small imperfections. They may also extensively disassemble the vehicle before painting. That additional labor can cost more than one of our complete paint jobs.

If you want an affordable paint job but would like to take the finish to another level, choose our Extreme package and we can refer you to someone for wet sanding and buffing after painting. We do not recommend wet sanding and buffing our single-stage Polyglo or Supreme finishes.

If you want to know what your vehicle may look like before deciding, we usually have several completed examples in the parking lot waiting to go home with their owners. We'd be happy to walk you through what each vehicle received and explain how the results may compare with what you're considering.

No. We paint plenty of other things, including bumpers, fenders, and doors—either on or off the vehicle. We also occasionally paint bicycle frames, football helmets, motorcycle parts, golf cart parts, drums, speaker boxes, guitars, and more.

For specialty items, we ask that you bring only the parts you want painted. We do not accept complete golf carts, motorcycles, or similar specialty vehicles for drop-off. If something is attached to the part when you drop it off, it will be painted.

We also have a spectrophotometer that can scan colors and help identify the closest possible color match. Specialty requests are handled on a case-by-case basis because some items may be too cumbersome or simply aren't cost-effective to paint.

The short answer is no. While we can accept insurance payment if you choose to have us perform cosmetic repairs for fender benders, parking lot mishaps, storm damage, vandalism, and similar situations, we do not have the staff, computer systems, or collision-specific equipment required to handle insurance claims on your behalf or meet manufacturer certification requirements.

If your needs fall outside the scope of the services we offer, you're still welcome to come see us. We can generally refer you to a shop that is better suited to help.

Absolutely. High-end restoration and body shops may work and rework a vehicle until everything is as close to perfect as possible before paint is applied. That pursuit of perfection requires significant time and labor, which can become expensive.

Our process is different. We'll inspect the vehicle with you and document any repairs you want performed in addition to the paint service. The vehicle then moves through our assembly-line-style production process one time.

If a repair wasn't discussed with you and noted on the repair order during the estimate, it will not be performed. Because we don't perform full collision repair or restoration work, hidden damage is uncommon. We rely on both our inspection and your knowledge of the vehicle's condition to identify areas of concern before work begins.

The paint job itself generally takes 2–3 days. If additional repairs are performed, that may add another day or two.

During peak seasons, such as tax-return time, extraordinary demand may cause delays. We rarely require more than one week to complete minor body repairs and a complete paint job. Parts ordering, an unusual amount of bodywork, multiple colors, or other special circumstances may extend the turnaround time.

Yes. We do it every day. All of our standard paint packages include painting the exterior in a single original color. The fee to change the exterior color is $100.

Add-ons such as painting door jambs, under the hood or trunk, tailgates, pickup beds, camper shells, and tonneau covers, as well as removing spoilers or roof racks, are available and priced on a case-by-case basis because they may or may not be necessary depending on the vehicle.

We try to make the process as simple as possible. Just stop by during business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, for an estimate.

If you'd like more information before coming in, click the "Start My Estimate" button on our website and provide as much information as possible about what you'd like done. Detailed photographs are helpful.

This will initiate your estimate request and allow us to provide as much information as we can beforehand. However, your final estimate will usually need to be completed after an in-person inspection.

Yes. Since our business hours are the same as many of our customers' working hours, after-hours drop-off is quite common.

Start by completing the work request form using the "Start My Estimate" button on our website. Then park your vehicle in one of the lined spaces near our front door. You'll find a key drop box by the front entrance.

Write your contact information on one of the provided envelopes, place your keys inside, and put the envelope in the lock box. Shortly after we arrive the following business day, we'll inspect the vehicle, take photographs, send your estimate electronically, and contact you for approval.

Please do not leave a vehicle without its keys or place keys in the drop box without your contact information. Envelopes and pens are provided at the box. Please return the pen for the next customer.

We accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and certified funds such as a bank check or money order. We do not accept personal checks or American Express.

We ask that you remove all valuables and personal belongings from the vehicle before dropping it off. Once you've decided to have the vehicle painted, please don't apply waxes, coatings, silicones, tire shine, or similar products. This helps us keep the refinishing process free of unnecessary contaminants.

These products can be applied after allowing the new paint to cure for approximately 30 days.

If you accidentally leave something in your vehicle, please call us so we can secure it until you're able to retrieve it. While we make our best effort to keep vehicles secure, neither Sprayglo nor our insurance company can accept liability for personal items left inside a vehicle.

We also only accept vehicles that are running and driving so they can move through our production process under their own power.

All of our paint jobs are warranted against peeling and cracking. Polyglo carries a 2-year warranty, Supreme carries a 3-year warranty, and Extreme carries a 5-year warranty. Our Supreme and Extreme warranties also cover fading.

How long your paint lasts beyond the warranty period depends greatly on how the vehicle is cared for. For more information, visit our paint-care guide to learn how to properly care for your new finish.
